Learning Support Coordinators (LSCs)
The Learning Support Coordinators (LSCs) of Te Iti Kahurangi Kāhui Ako work with whānau, Senior Leadership Teams, teachers, and multiple educational, health and social agencies to achieve positive outcomes for our tamariki who might need some different or additional support for their learning.
The main priority of an LSC is to ensure that all tamariki, regardless of their needs, have every chance of success in their learning and relationships during their time at school. It is important that LSCs work with whānau to help them realise dreams and aspirations for their tamariki.
LSCs are a key contact for whānau of tamariki with learning support needs and will work in partnership with whānau to minimise barriers to required services and resources for their tamariki.
LSCs also coordinate support and services from external agencies, strengthen transitions into, across and beyond our schools and assist teaching teams in ensuring we always provide culturally responsive, highly effective, and engaging opportunities for our learners - across all schools of Te Iti Kahurangi
